daniel.bregman@eyehealthpartners.com

Dr. Daniel Bregman is an accomplished eye surgeon, specializing in no-stitch micro-incision cataract surgery, refractive laser-assisted cataract surgery (ReLACS), and corneal refractive procedures such as LASIK.  Formerly the Chief of Ophthalmology at Ireland Army Community Hospital in Fort Knox, KY, he has been a member of our practice since 1993.  He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Dr. Bregman has achieved outstanding results in the course of performing 30,000 LASIK procedures and 30,000 cataract procedures thus far in his career.  His experience and expertise extends to include medical and surgical treatment for a variety of other ocular conditions, including glaucoma, surgical treatment of pterygium, and the management of dry eye syndrome.

Refractive laser-assisted cataract surgery or ReLACS is a state-of-the-art procedure that helps to reduce dependence on glasses after cataract surgery. The laser used during cataract surgery can reduce pre-existing astigmatism, and treat presbyopia—the need for reading glasses—with laser guided precision that is often combined with toric and multifocal intraocular lens implants.

Daniel E. Bustos, M.D. Cataract Surgery & Comprehensive Ophthalmology: Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Daniel E. Bustos, M.D.
Cataract Surgery & Comprehensive Ophthalmology:
Board Certified Ophthalmologist
daniel.bustos@eyehealthpartners.com

Dr. Daniel Bustos provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for a wide range of eye disorders including glaucoma, cataracts, and neuro-ophthalmic disease. His bedrock principal, inherited from his father who was a cardiothoracic surgeon, is to treat each patient with dignity, compassion, respect, and a personal attention to detail, which he believes every human being deserves. “…I strive to make sure my patients understand, on at least a basic level, what is wrong with their eyes, what we can do together to fix it, and what they can expect in the future, so they leave my exam room feeling better about the future of their eyes.”

Following his medical education and internship from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Bustos completed his Ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2007. Since that time Dr. Bustos has utilized his expertise in nearly a thousand cases to advance the sight of his cataract patients. Of these, many were referred to him through Optometrists whose patients appreciated the quality of care they received, and many were friends and family members of previous cataract patients who recommended Dr. Bustos’ thorough and compassionate care. In addition to cataract surgery, he has extensive experience diagnosing and treating corneal/anterior segment diseases, neuro-ophthalmic disorders, and glaucoma.

One of Dr. Bustos’ deepest desires has been the opportunity to practice and become an integral part of the Nashville community that he and his family grew to love during his residency. He and his family are excited to become part of the fabric of Middle Tennessee on a permanent basis and to build relationships of trust and partnership that will last indefinitely.

Dr. Bustos rotates his schedule between the Murfreesboro and Nashville clinic locations of Eye Health Partners of Middle Tennessee, Inc.
