Dr. Crisp is a native of western North Carolina. She attended Duke University on an academic scholarship where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Zoology. She completed her Medical Doctorate at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Following her one year internship in straight medicine at Washington Hospital Center in D.C., Dr. Crisp performed retina research at the Estelle Doheny Eye Foundation in Los Angeles, California. Her four year Residency in Ophthalmology was conducted at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.

While in New Orleans, she was resident instructor at Tulane Medical Center and an assistant instructor for the Optometric Society. She has been practicing Anterior Segment Ophthalmology specializing in cataract surgery since 1992. Dr. Crisp performs no-stitch and micro-incision cataract procedures and also utilizes the premium astigmatism-correcting lenses. Dr. Crisp is recognized for her ozil phaco technique used during the cataract procedure. In addition, Dr. Crisp has considerable experience providing advanced treatment for glaucoma patients, such as SLT laser therapy. Dr. Crisp is a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, and a Diplomat of The American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Crisp settled in Rutherford County following the destruction of her practice by Hurricane Katrina. In her spare time Dr. Crisp enjoys Jazz music, traveling and spending time with her Chihuahua, Rufus.
