Dr. Mulrooney specializes in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Memphis in 1990 and went on to pursue his Medical Doctor degree at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1995.
Upon graduation, he completed a one year Transitional Internship at Methodist Hospitals in Memphis, Tennessee before moving to Kansas City, Kansas to pursue a three year Ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas. Once he completed his residency, he moved back to Tennessee where he completed a one year Ophthalmic Plastic Surgical Fellowship with Ophthalmic Plastic Surgical Associates.
After Dr. Mulrooney completed his fellowship, he moved back to Kansas to serve as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and as the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgical Service. He served at the University of Kansas until 2004 when he joined VisionAmerica to provide cataract surgery in Athens, AL.
Dr. Mulrooney is board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has also authored ophthalmologic publications.
Dr. Mulrooney is married and has two young children.

Dr. Alan Peaslee specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease and trauma. He has extensive experience with pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery patients, as well as the medical management of glaucoma, diabetic monitoring, dry eye, corneal disease, and ocular surface disease. Other areas of expertise include pediatric eye care and low vision.
Following his graduation cum laude from Knox College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, Dr. Peaslee earned both his Doctor of Optometry and Master of Science degrees at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. The Master of Science degree afforded Dr. Peaslee additional research training in the field of Visual Science.
Dr. Peaslee is a member of the American Optometric Association, Alabama Optometric Association, and the Armed Forces Optometric Society. His military background includes service in the U.S. Army, Active Duty, U.S. Army Reserve, Iowa Army National Guard, and Georgia Air National Guard. Dr. Peaslee has also been awarded several prestigious honors and accolades throughout his military, educational, and professional careers. Among those include UAB School of Optometry Clinical Excellence Award (1989), Air National Guard Biomedical Science Office of the Year (2005), and the Tifton Gazette Best Optometrist (2015, 2016). In his personal time, Dr. Peaslee has volunteered in multiple roles in youth organizations, is very active in his church, and in 2014, established a missionary eye clinic in San Pedro de Marcois, The Dominican Republic, where he continues to volunteer his time and expertise when possible.
