IntraLase

Over one million eyes have already experienced the difference of IntraLase. IntraLase initiated LASIK is a blade-free, all laser procedure. With IntraLase, the surgeon has a new and exciting option that is uniquely safe and precise.

How IntraLase Works

The LASIK procedure involves two steps. First, a flap of cornea tissue is created and folded back away from the eye. Then the excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea and the corneal flap is replaced.

With the IntraLase, the first step is completed by a laser. The eye is held in place with a suction ring. Then the IntraLase laser pulses thousands of times across the eye in a precise pattern. The laser pulse creates tiny air bubbles at a defined depth in the corneal tissue.  The air bubbles separate the tissue creating the corneal flap.
