Frequently described as a “great doctor” with “wonderful chair-side manner,” Dr. Kostamaa is skilled and knowledgeable in all disorders and diseases of the retina, including macular degeneration, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and epiretinal membranes. Always at the forefront of new retinal management advancements, he has participated in multiple clinical trials, all so that he can provide the best care possible to his patients.

Dr. Kostamaa received his medical degree and specialized ophthalmic training at the University of California, Irvine, where he served as Chief Resident. He also completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal disease. His commitment to his practice includes staying on the leading edge of advancements in medical and surgical treatments for retinal diseases and injuries, while also developing long-term relationships with his patients. He believes that teamwork is the key to delivering optimal eye care and that Eye Health Partners of Middle Tennessee, Inc. is ideally suited to provide this type of care.
